The Intersection Community, located on Wilshire Blvd near Koreatown, bridges diverse urban scales. To the east, a moderately dense area supports community businesses, while to the west, lower-density residential neighborhoods blend with small businesses. Single-family homes dominate the north and southwest, contrasting with the large private office buildings along Wilshire that disrupt the urban rhythm and lack community-serving functions.
At the urban scale, this project connects these contrasting environments through a walkable, transit-accessible design that integrates local businesses. At the community scale, it offers adaptable residential units that accommodate lifelong family size changes. With sustainable design and inclusive outdoor spaces, it fosters a human-centered, lifelong community network, providing stability and support for the district.
