Motion picture media is a deeply layered product of so many carefully considered mediums and elements. Color, sound, composition, narrative, performance, design, coordination, technical visual engineering, political, environmental, cultural and social contexts. The Kerrytown film stock exists, necessarily so, as the machine for delivery of a deeply complex artistic product. But to consume the artistic product is not the same as knowing the artistic product. To digest it personally, element by element, and to digest it in the company of our neighbors, our friends, our family, and strangers. The film stock hosts a variety of scales of theater spaces, where the social relationships to film are varied, between the hyper personal and experiential, to the collective consumption of the blockbuster.
